"Full," she repeated. Penelope wasn't one of those dainty girls that couldn't eat in front of a man or would only eat like a bird. A good portion of her chicken was gone; maybe he'd just forgotten to eat again.
Oddly enough, a smile twitched at the corners of her mouth. "I didn't really mean anything by what I said, either, but maybe it's because you talk like that. You sound so perfectly proper all the time. It's confusing." She didn't add that he'd always spoken like this, but it had become a bit worse over time. Penny noted that the tone of the conversation had definitely taken a change for the worse; she also knew that some sort of argument was inevitable for tonight and that they might as well get it out of the way now. "Maybe if you just relaxed once in a while?" she suggested.
