Penelope had just finished cleaning her entire apartment, top to bottom. Had it needed it? Probably not by most peoples' standards; she, however, cleaned her entire flat at least once every two weeks (if not more). Having a guest over necessitated that she move up her next scheduled cleaning to that day.
The smell of teriyaki was wafting through the air and she was feeling like a fairly accomplished chef tonight. She wasn't going to be like Hermione and have snacks and a salad; Penny didn't want Percy to think she'd gone to any great lengths to prepare for his visit. He might get the wrong impression. The same could be said for her clothing. She hadn't wanted to look like a horrible slob but nor did she want to send these "mixed messages" Percy had talked about; she'd decided on dark jean with a short-sleeved sweater.
She was just finishing cleaning Artemis's gigantic wrought iron cage when she heard the knock at the door. Her heart skipped a beat; she wasn't entirely sure why but she was a bit nervous. Maybe it was because she felt that some sort of argument was inevitable tonight. Penny was already resigned to it. Jogging over to the door, barefoot, she opened the door, smiling. "Hi! Come in," she said hurriedly. "Dinner is sort of almost ready." Penelope grimaced. "My timing is a bit off."
