WHO: Ginny Potter, Harry Potter, and James Potter WHEN: November 7, 2004 WHERE: Casa di Potter RATING: PG SUMMARY: The Harpies Stadium is nearly finished, and Holyhead is ready to begin practice again which means Ginny has a decision to make.
At three weeks old James was finally beginning to gain some weight, which was a great thing according to the Healers at St. Mungos who still insisted that Ginny bring him in for weekly appointments. Being small, he still didn't do much beyond eating, sleeping and occasionally cooing at whoever happened to be feeding him.
For Ginny, the past three weeks had been spent learning to juggle having a new baby and the lack of sleep that also came with that particular change in life. She had made it a point to always stay with James, except for the brief half-hour early in the morning before Harry left for work - Ginny always went for a run, both for working off what little baby weight remained and with the hope that she might go back to quidditch the following year. Realistically she knew that it was a long shot with James being so small and all of the extra attention he needed, and since Harry had a job of his own she couldn't expect (and wouldn't expect or ask) that he spend less time working so that she could go back to quidditch.
But that didn't do anything to lessen her desire to play the season she had been robbed off with the bombing.
Then the owl had came bearing the official logo of the Holyhead Harpies, telling Ginny that renovations were nearing completion on the stadium and they wanted to provide all former players the ability to come back for a couple of weeks of practice before opening trials to replace other members who wouldn't be able to join the team again.
Since the owl had arrived Ginny had been carrying it around in her pocket, afraid of losing it and afraid of approaching the subject with Harry. But the fact was that time the respond to Gwenog and the managers was running out, and Ginny knew that she wasn't going to do anything without talking to Harry first. They were married, and this was a huge decision that would affect their lives for the next year.
She had spent the better part of the morning decorating different parts of the house for Christmas, the letter on her mind the entire time while she finished hanging a garland and finished lunch for herself and Harry as James slept in the bassinet she had been levitating around the house.
Ginny had just finished lunch when the back door opened, "hey I just finished lunch. I assumed you would be hungry."
