Who: Hannah and Megan Where: Leaky Cauldron - Hannah's flat When: Tuesday evening/night What: The two need to catch up
Lucy was nearing sleep. The little girl was curled up in her mum's arms as Hannah rocked her back and forth, her hands clutched around a toy rabbit that was far too hard for her to fall asleep with. Hannah had Lucy's bear sitting next to them and was trying, casually, to get her daughter to willingly give one toy up for the other. She knew just pulling the rabbit away would only cause a fuss; Hannah had learned to pick what she chose to battle the baby over and this wasn't one of the instances where it was worth the fight.
Besides that, Hannah was waiting for Megan to show up. It had been awhile since she had seen her friend and she was earnest to relax a little and spend some adult time. That had been part of what had been so nice about having Neville come over, even if the original reason for his recent visit had been Hannah feeling panicked and needing calmed down. It was nice being a mum and being able to socialize. Still, Lucy would be worse off for it all and she wouldn't be able to socialize if Lucy didn't go to sleep.
When the little girl finally let go of the rabbit and let it drop, Hannah moved to put Lucy into her crib and laid the bear down next to her. She watched her for a few minutes as she settled in until Hannah heard a knock at the front door. She slipped out of the room, grabbing a monitor as she did before shutting the door behind her. It was a charmed Wizarding monitor - it would relay the noise like a regular muggle baby monitor, but it would glow bright red when Lucy made an extremely loud noise or, if it was completely devoid of even the sound of breathing, would glow and set a loud charm.
"Megan!" Hannah broke into a rather large grin as she opened the door.
