"The feeling of wanting six more months to prepare will never change. You can be a minute away from delivery and you'll still want six more months, no less. The baby can be six months old and you'll want six more months to prepare. It's normal, I think. It's a huge thing to take on and it's scary, but it gets more exciting as time goes on. I think it's a good sign that you're striving to be a good parent." It wasn't that Hannah expected her words to be reassuring, but it was something nice that she hoped would venture toward reassuring the expecting mother. Hannah knew how scary it could be and wanted to help cushion that the best she could.
"Well, your house certainly isn't rowdy. Your mum must've had such a time with that many boys running about. There are a few tricks that can be tried with it being a calmer atmosphere. I'll think on some of the stuff the books suggested that I tried with Lucy and write them down for you." She paused to get a bite and think through a few of the options that she had used. "And you are going to have a day out to relax once the little one is old enough. Believe me, it's worrying that first time away, but it's better to think about it in a positive light from now until whenever it happens."
