WHO: Harry Potter and Ginny Potter WHEN: October 7, 2004 WHERE: Compound Potter RATING: TBA SUMMARY: A baby requires a put together nursery. Harry to the rescue!
For a couple of months the nursery had been nothing but a pile of boxes, baskets, and walls charmed or painted various shades while Ginny tried to decide what colour she wanted and what theme she needed. Gryffindor, naturally, had been her first choice but she had realised somewhere along the way that decking out her child's bedroom in red and gold might be sending the wrong message. She didn't want a child growing up thinking that if he didn't get sorted into Gryffindor that he wasn't good enough.
Therefore she had gone a different route, the colours were typical boy colours - green, blue, red, yellow - with simple graphic prints and quidditch themed items. Harry had bought the wall decorations that currently swooped around in a virtual game, and there were several other items that would be placed around to help bring the theme home but not smack you over the head with it.
Of course none of those things could really be organized without furniture to store things in and place things on. She had purchased the crib a couple of weeks before, but usually putting it together had seemed like to big of a job for one person and it also wasn't something she had originally wanted to ask Harry to do for her. He spent enough time working, and having him come home to put together a cumbersome crib seemed a little cruel but they were running out of time to complete the nursery and none of her brothers or her dad had dropped by recently so that she could sweetly ask them to help her out.
That had left the job for Harry, and for her to sit and read the instructions to him as he worked. Magic wasn't going to be left to hold up her only child as he slept, they were going to do this the muggle way.
