LONDON; The Ministry of Magic is warning today that, following Wednesday's Attack on the Ministry of Magic, Aurors suspect that Fenrir Greyback is no longer the Alpha of his werewolf pack. Evidence would indicate that the attack was not lead by feral, uncontrolled werewolves, but werewolves who had utilized the Wolfsbane potion to give themselves conrol. Ministry Representative Ferdinand Shamble released to the press a statement immediately following the attack in which he implied that the Aurors were operating now on the theory that at-large Death Eaters were running the pack, recruiting troubled youth, taking the bite to gain power, and taking Wolfsbane before the moon to maintain control. Though it is still believed that Greyback is involved, previous experience with the notorious werewolf would tell the ministry that Greyback would not willingly go along with a plan to take the potion if he still had any power in the pack. LONDON; Wildlife photographer Penelope Clearwater was at the Ministry of Magic to renew her Kneazle License Wednesday when six werewolves believed to be at-large Death Eaters sprang a surprise attack, intending to get to the Auror office. Clearwater was one of three killed, but the irony was not lost on her loved-ones. Penelope Clearwater, just months ago, had published photographs along with a Eulogy for slain werewolf hero Marcus Belby, who was killed in the Acromantula attack on Diagon Alley earlier this year. The attack on Miss Clearwater was swift, brutal, and almost instantly fatal. (Clearwater, Continued B2)
PUDDLEMERE; Quidditch Experts are calling it early this year. Though we won't even know the two teams playing until September 18 when Game 6 is complete, five out of six sports writers for major publications in England have made the early prediction. They're calling it for Puddlemere United. Puddlemere United, until this point, has had an absolutely perfect season with no losses, despite losing star Keeper Oliver Wood for a few weeks with a serious head injury. A perfect season hasn't been seen by the League since 1995 when Tutshill pulled it off. Now, eight years later, Puddlemere has a higher average score than the 95 Tornados, who lost in the post-season semifinal game to the Wimbourne Wasps after their Beater, Brevis Birch, was severely injured. Though five out of six experts are saying Puddlemere this early, there are still a few holdouts. Rudolph Blech of the Daily Prophet has called it for Kenmare and Charlie Weasley, also of the Prophet, has called it, comically, for the Cannons.
