"Ah, I see now. How could I have been so blind?" Ritchie shook his head and planted a well-rehearsed sad face on his lips. "I should have known you'd have your own agenda in inviting me over. I'm such a naive Gryffindor." And in part, that was true. He was a naive Gryffindor, or had been long ago anyway. Had he the qualities that made a Slytherin a Slytherin, he liked wouldn't be in the situation he was at the moment.
With a bit of a dramatic sigh, he continued. "I guess it's just my sheer will to be around you that's keeping me here." And, in part, that too was true. Ritchie wasn't a big fan of ice cream. Even before his accident, he didn't very much care for the diary-infused crack that made his best friend all but climb the walls of their dorm.
