WHO: Harry and OTA
WHAT: On a lunch break
WHEN: Mid-Day Friday
WHERE: Florean Fortescue's

Harry felt like he had earned the right to eat ice cream as a meal. He had risked his life to save three hostages and caught three more Death Eats. That was a victory and he was going to be rewarded. Really he would have found any excuse because he was craving a chocolate cone with chocolate chunks and whole frozen raspberries, rolled in peanuts and placed on a fudge dipped cone. It was very unhealthy, but it was good for the soul.

Harry sat down outside, enjoying the sunshine and racing to eat his ice cream before the summer air melted it. Luckily the ice cream parlor, which had been revived after the war by new owners, had a charmed bubble of climate control over the outside seating.

It was a good day.

One of Parvati's unfortunate duties was to run errands for Madam Malkan. It had been her unrealistic ideas that her job with Madam would entail her working strictly on designs and giving her a leg-up in to the fashion world. But a lot of her tasks were scheduling, cleaning the shop, and picking up orders.

Passing through Diagon Alley on her way back to the shop, she had a bag of ribbons hanging from an arm. It was at least nice to get fresh air after a long morning. Passing the ice cream parlor, she spotted Harry outside with a large, surely calorie-overloaded, ice cream treat.

"Hello, Harry," she stopped by the tables, knowing it would be rude to pass and not at the least say hello to her old classmate.

Harry looked up from his ice cream as if busted eating something he wasn't supposed to. He recognized Parvati immediately, having had her in almost every class at Hogwarts. "Oh," he said, turning in his chair a bit more so that he could properly look at her.

He nodded his head because waving might result in the devastating cone-drop. "Hello Parvati. How are you?"

Parvati smiled, nodding back. "I'm fine, just running a few errands," she explained, lifting her bag to show. It had been a while since they had seen one another, but Harry wasn't hard to forget, after all.

"Are you on a lunch break?" She observed his work robes, not wanting to keep him from getting back to work if that was the case.

"Just starting my lunch hour, actually," he glanced at his watch. Harry liked wearing a watch and so now that he was an adult he wore a really nice watched that was charmed to resist getting cracked. It was a nice, expensive watch that he wound up, so it didn't go haywire inside the ministry.

"Fifteen minutes into it."

Parvati nodded, knowing as much as she liked talking, she was horrible at small talk if it wasn't about a good piece of gossip. She wished she could take a lunch break, but she knew she would be eating a meal in the office today; they were swamped with orders.

"How have you been?" she asked him in turn. "I heard you were behind saving those girls and locking those brutes up. Word travels down the Alley fast," she explained. It had probably been in the paper, but Parvati didn't read it often. Instead she had to hear Madam drone on about the ordeal.

"Well, it was Neville's idea, really," Harry said. "One of them was my brother-in-law's girlfriend and another was, well it was Hannah. She's really close with Ginny. I wasn't going to hand over Death Eaters but we couldn't do nothing."

Harry, really, was lucky that he hadn't been killed. With all of her family, and Harry's fortune, Ginny could get by, but he knew she would be devastated if she lost Harry. They didn't need another generation of Potter boys without fathers.

"We're just thankful everyone is home and safe, and that the Death Eaters in question were caught," Parvati said, as if she spoke for everyone in Diagon Alley. It seemed to be the targeted spot in London as of lately.

Parvati had spent her years after Hogwarts with her family and out of Europe. After the war, everything had been so peaceful, and now it seemed, just as Parvati decided to move back, that things were picking up again. It was a little unsettling.

"We're down to twenty at-large Death Eaters, and only six of those were inner circle. Of course, I'd like to get Greyback," he said. "Him probably more than some of the marked."

Harry was very much in love with and also obsessed with his job. He could spout off the names and crimes of each of the twenty people on that list. "They're getting desperate now. I'm not sure how many have the sense to stay hidden and go straight. We catch them because they act out."

Harry wasn't normally chatty, but he could talk about this subject easily.

Parvati was relieved, of course. Even though the war had been over for quite a few years now, it still seemed to haunt them. But it was still worrisome that there were a number out there, and they still had intentions of attacking the innocent.

Her jaw tightened at the mention of Greyback; she remembered him most distinctly as the one who had attacked Lavender in the final battle. "I hope you get him and lock him up, too," she commented, more strongly than she had intended.

"I hope any further acting out doesn't end in any serious injury for anyone." She knew what he was saying to be true, but it was unfortunate that it was only easy to find and catch the Death Eaters when they planned an attack.

Harry nodded. "The Acromantula was the worst attack we've seen since the war. And it was clever too. I think we were getting complacent, five years after the war, thinking it was completely over."

Harry heard Moody's old Mantra in his head, CONSTANT VIGILANCE! He let a little smirk show, which probably seemed in poor taste as she couldn't read his mind.

"I was still away from England when that happened," Parvati said, having heard about it from a few customers. She was glad she hadn't been there to witness it. Not only was it a bad attack, but magical creepy-crawlies were not her favorite.

"But at least you've got three behind bars now, it's closer to getting them all and hopefully putting this all behind us for good," she pointed out, offering a small smile. If anyone could do it, she knew Harry could.

Harry nodded. He took a big lick off of his ice cream and thought about what she said. Math was never really his strong suit. "Twenty three down to twenty, that's like... what?"

He thought about it, "Just under fifteen percent? I dunno. It's a good chunk of them. And nobody got hurt... except Neville."

Parvati laughed when he looked at her for math. "Don't look at me!" She was never good at math, let alone at other practical things such as writing. With all the time she had spent focusing more on her hair and boys, she was surprised she had made it through school.

She nodded. "Well, that's good to hear. We have a small sigh of relief around here thanks to you boys."

Harry shrugged, "If I wasn't doing it, do you think they'd let me have a moment of peace?" Harry wasn't really that selfish, but he had a hard time with the hero praise too. And it was true, Harry wouldn't be able to rest until all of them were rounded up. His family would likely be their number one target so long as they were on the loose.

"With the baby coming... I've got to finish cleaning up, you know?"

Parvati shook her head. "No, I suppose not," she agreed. Things were a bit different for Harry, they always had been, and she suspected they always would be. "You must be excited about that, though." It was still strange to hear of former classmates already having their own kids. Parvati felt that she was no where near even considering that phase of her life.

She adjusted her grip on the bag in her hands. "I should get these back to the shop, and let you finish your treat so you can get back to work."

Harry had grown up fast because of the war. He had grown up fast and he was with the woman who was it forevermore. Of course James wasn't expected quite so early, but Harry was excited, nonetheless.

"Hmmm... yeah, it's kinda melting," he said. He would have to eat it fast or he would get ice cream on his sleeves. He had never really perfected those cleaning charms like Hermione had.

Parvati smiled at the mess dripping down the cone. It was why, on the rare occasion she did get ice cream, it was never in the cone. She could only imagine her horror when it dripped on to her lap! Ice cream stains did not look good on any color.

"I will leave you to it, then," she nodded. "I hope I'll see you around, Harry."

"See ya, Parvati." He waved and then darted to catch a drip with his tongue before it touched his hand. He was really excited about his ice cream. Maybe next time he'd get something weirder, like bubble gum ice cream with raspberry jam.
