WHO: Tracey Davis & Draco Malfoy WHEN: August 7, afternoon. WHERE: Tracey's townhouse; Chelsea, London WHAT: Tea!
Tracey was watching her house elf, Lucy, finish the large arrangement of flowers that would greet her guests upon their entry. It was a big mass of lily of the valley and lisianthus placed in a huge polished nickel pot. It was almost necessary to have a bright arrangement in that area: so much dark wood in one area would be oppressing otherwise.
"That looks wonderful, Lucy," she said, waving off the delighted elf. Unlike her parents and many of their friends, Tracey didn't see the reason in making an enemy of the help. They worked much more efficiently when shown a bit of kindness. It was just practical. "Attend to the tea and set out the biscuits, will you?" The elf disappeared, bowing and making affirmative noises.
A knock on the door startled her briefly. Lucy poked her head out of the kitchen, but Tracey shook her head. She waited a moment, checking her hair in the mirror and adjusting her diamond earrings unnecessarily before leisurely making sure way to the door. One couldn't seem too hasty. Smoothing her dress one last time, she opened the door.
