9pm
Penelope had opted not to tote along everyone's souvenirs tonight. She knew she hadn't bought a gift for everyone attending the party and, besides, it was Harry and Neville's night. She wasn't really familiar with Neville besides knowing who he was, but you couldn't just show up to a birthday party for two people with only one gift, right? That had to be some sort of faux pas.
She hadn't thought to ask what anyone would want before leaving for Africa, so she'd had to guess about everyone (except Ginny, who was very clear in her demands for a monkey). Penny and Charlie had picked out a handsome set of malachite lion carvings for Harry. Lions were masculine, right? They'd been hesitant at first, but decided on a malachite rhinoceros statue for Neville. If he didn't like it, Penelope would gladly take it back.
Having already entered the pool once, Penny's hair was dark and dripping as she pulled on her gold coverup over her somewhat ostentatious golden one-piece bathing suit. She didn't want to admit it to herself, but she'd picked out something flashier with the hopes of looking better than Daphne Greengrass. She was completely over Percy, but something about that awful girl inspired intense dislike.
Grabbing a drink from the bar, Penelope meandered her way closer to the food.
