WHO: Penelope & Percy WHEN: Friday afternoon. (postdated) WHERE: The Ministry of Magic offices. WHAT: A little workin' .. a little awkward. STATUS: COMPLETE
Penelope hadn't slept very much the night before. Somehow, she was still just as energetic and alert as she always was. She was going to blame the very enjoyable evening she'd just spent in Barcelona. Not even being called into work today could dampen her mood. The Ministry way paying her a small salary and the least she could do was come in a couple times a week to translate for a few hours. The letter she'd received this morning hadn't indicated that she'd be there for very long, so Penny was opting for Muggle clothing; that way, she could go straight out into London to pick out an outfit to wear to Ron Weasley's birthday party the next day. She'd chosen a charcoal pencil skirt with bright blue pinstripes that matched the shiny satin sapphire-colored top she was wearing under the matching blazer. Shiny blue pumps completed her outfit; Penelope had never gotten a chance to wear her blue shoes and this wonderful day was reason enough!
Greeting everyone she passed in the lobby, Penny made her way to the elevator. She pulled out the parchment she'd received this morning. The official Ministry seal was still unbroken; normally she was heading up to the Magical Creatures division to assist with Goblin interpretation. Breaking the seal, she opened it and discovered her assumption had been quite wrong. Heart pounding, she hit the button for the Office of International Magical Cooperation.
A minute later, she was walking down a hallway to the wooden door at the end. A plaque with Percy's name on it hung on the door. She knocked, mentally preparing herself. Penny wasn't entirely sure why she needed to mentally prepare herself and promised that she would explore the reasoning behind this when she returned home and had an alcoholic beverage in hand.
