Author’s notes: We don’t know a lot about Jessica, and never really get to know her except through Sam’s viewpoint. I thought it would be fun to explore her, and her relationship with Sam. This is all speculation, especially the bit at the end, as I haven’t seen all of season 2.
From the moment she met Sam Winchester, he was a thief, stealing from Jessica what was rightfully hers.
Their first meeting was in the cafeteria, where there was just one slice of pie left. She was just about the take it when, from the other side of the cart, this scruffy boy picked it up, moved to the register and paid for it before Jessica could protest.
First she was peeved when he stole her food…
In every class Jessica had a lucky seat. It was always in the 3rd row from the front, middle bank, 4th from the right hand side. She always sat there. Until Geology 101. For the whole semester, no matter how early she tried to arrive, she could never get that seat, as it was always stolen by that scruffy-yet-decent-looking boy. She knew there was a correlation between that seat and the grades, as that was the only class that semester that she didn’t come top in. And the person who did was the scruffy-but-fairly-cute boy (whom she learned was called Sam Winchester) thah had stolen her seat.
…then annoyed he stole her lucky seat – and the top grade into the bargain…
When finally she forgave him for the previous thefts, Jessica admitted to herself that he was scruffy-but-seriously-hot and one blind date turned into another, then another. Before they knew it, they were spending all their time with each other, and were an “official” couple. It just seemed natural that they decided to move in with each other.
…she was surprised to find that he had stolen her heart too…
All her friends said how lucky she was to find an old fashioned gentlemen in this day and age. How mature he was when compared to their classmates, already planning for the future. How considerate to watch that chick-flick with her rather than the blood-and-gore fest on the other channel. How security conscious he was, insisting on accompanying her when it was dark, even when it meant missing the football game of the season.
Yet for all that, she felt that there was some dark part of him that he was keeping hidden from her. Something important. Something… deadly. Even though Jessica Moore thought that she had given all of herself to Sam Winchester, when she found herself pinned to the ceiling above their bed, she discovered that he still had untapped depths.
…and finally the utter anguish and despair when he found out that he had stolen her life, and with it her future and that of their unborn child.
From the moment she met Sam Winchester, he was a thief, stealing from Jessica what was rightfully hers …
