Fullmetal Alchemist (Kimberly/Archer) [week 6, prompt 2]
Title: So Different Author: Laylah Rating: worksafe-ish with kink themes Word Count: 200 Summary: Kimberly leans against the wall, hands in his pockets. "You follow orders well, don't you?"
"Things would have been so different," Archer says, "if you had been rewarded for your efforts in the war, instead of persecuted." The train rattles on, through the dark, toward the new battlefield. His battlefield. "You'd probably outrank me."
Kimberly's eyes glitter in the moonlight. He stops undressing, shrugs his jacket back on. "You like that idea?"
He shouldn't. He wants -- wants that power for himself, to run this country right. And yet. "Maybe."
"Maybe." Kimberly leans against the wall, hands in his pockets. "You follow orders well, don't you?" Archer can't tell if he's exaggerating the Dublith twang in his voice deliberately, or simply forgetting to curb it.
"Nobody gets very far in the military if he doesn't," Archer points out.
"Fair enough," Kimberly says. He smiles. It's a challenge. "You want to follow my orders tonight?"
Archer licks his lips. "I would need assurance that you wouldn't entertain such delusions of grandeur afterward."
Kimberly shakes his head. "Not a problem," he says. "You can have your command back in the morning."
"In that case," Archer says hoarsely, "I accept."
"Good choice," Kimberly purrs. "On your knees, soldier."
It shouldn't, but oh, that feels good. Archer shivers. "Yes, sir."
