Naruto (Gen) [Week 1 - Prompt # 1
Title: An Ending
Author: Random
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Death and Politics
Word Count: 352
Summary: It is not the death he deserves.
Author Notes: Possible vague spoilers, but nothing really.
This is how it ends.
The team finds Sasuke, collapsed just outside the mouth of a cave, covered in his own blood and with a considerable trail of it leading back inside. Naruto grabs him- picks him up and just takes off back to Konoha, Sakura just behind him, and they take him directly to Tsunade.
She heals him, fixes him up like she was patching a child’s toy, and leaves him in a room at the hospital for the machines to watch over, but under the heaviest techniques she knows to keep someone asleep.
The full council convenes. While Naruto and Sakura had conveniently managed to forget that no matter how much they had personally and emotionally invested in the Uchiha, he was still a traitor to the city of Konoha, and one who had caused injury to those sent after him, the rest of the village has not.
Tsunade looks at the two young people before joining her council- sees their hope in their young eyes- and emphasizes the bloodline ability their wayward brother carries, wanting desperately not to have a need to crush that hope- She fails.
The verdict takes a long time in coming, fierce debate raging for more than two days, but the sentence, once it has been handed down, is carried out within the hour. Tissue samples are harvested, from skin, from bone, sperm is taken from his unknowing body, to be kept on ice and implanted in women willing to breed Konoha’s soldiers, even the eyes themselves are removed for further study, and then the last of the noble clan of the Uchiha is disposed of. He is killed with a single slice to an artery and bleeds out within seconds.
He never wakes. His last memory is of pain and bright orange, a heart beating steadily beneath his ear and his true siblings telling him that he’d be alright.
