RP: Answers?
Who: Lucius and Open
Where: Edge of town or there about
When: Not long after he arrived
Rating: TBD
Status: Incomplete

Lucius looked around the empty filed he was standing in. It didn't look familiar to him and he wasn't one to stuff up apparating this badly- or at all for that matter. The only thing he could think of was that there was some outside force that had pulled him here. What it was though was the question he was interested in. That and where here was. Those were the two answers he was going to get and hopefully in the process discover a way home. Before anyone noticed that he was missing.

Looking around him he saw a barn near by and he decided that would be the best place to start trying to find his answers. Of course once he got there apart from shelter from the weather he didn't immediately find anything. On closer expection he found something explanning how to use a 'blackberry' whatever that was and how to find more shelter. That he appreciated it.

Following the instructions it wasn't long before he reached the town of Ispwich where he hoped to find some answers.

Rory had given the boys the weekend off - they really weren't obligated to be doing any of the things they did - but that meant she had to deal. One of the surveyors had called in that he saw footprints leading away from the barn, which meant someone had arrived but hadn't posted anything yet.

Which meant they either didn't know how, despite the instructions, or they had some other reason for not making themselves known.

When she came across the blond man walking into town, she reasoned the odds were good he was the one who'd walked away from the barn. Pulling her car over to the side of the road, she rolled down the window and leaned out slightly.

"Sir, do you need any help?" she called over, studying him.

Lucius studied her carefully. It was probably safe to assume that this person was someone who could be able to help him. Though he had no idea who they were or what they were in. That made him slightly wary about what he said and did.

"You wouldn't know where I am? I have not heard of this place before," he said deciding he might as well get what information he could from her.

So, ten points to her for making that call. "I would know where you are," Rory offered as she exhaled softly. Turning the car off in case he proved to be one of the difficult cases, she opened the door and stepped out.

"Going to guess that you woke up, or landed, or stepped out next to a big barn in an otherwise pretty empty field?" she inquired as she lifted her eyebrows slightly. "There's been a spacial-temporal rift, and people from different worlds, realities, and times, are being pulled into that field. We've got housing set up for you folk if you want it, though we're perfectly content to let you make your own way if that's what you want. My name is Aurora Marshall, agent of the FBI."

Lucius nodded. He was disturbed that she was able to tell that about him but he managed to keep a blank face through all of it. Especially when she started to explain more about what was happening. He hadn't heard of any of that sort of thing before.

"If that is what it takes to get some answers then I'm sure I do not have much choice Agent," he said carefully. He didn't want to give too much away, to make himself vulnerable in this new world.

"You've got choices," she assured him. "But not having to spend what limited funds you're started with on rent's a pretty good way to go," she continued. "And before you ask, no. I have no idea how everyone falling in here starts out with a credit card and a Blackberry. But everyone has so far."

It was profoundly disturbing when she really thought about it, so she tried not to.

"But if you wanted to head to one of the houses, I could give you a ride, Mr...?" She noticed he hadn't dropped a name, but that didn't surprise her. Not everyone did right away.

Lucius nodded. He had to figure out how to use those things too despite the instructions he still hadn't completely wrapped his head around it. They were like nothing he had seen before.

"Malfoy, Lucius Malfoy," he said coldly. He wasn't used to people not knowing who he was.

Malfoy. That was familiar, and Rory mentally ran over the list of reasons why. Recalling there was another Malfoy here, and wondering if they were related, she studied the man.

If he was related, that meant he was a wizard - most likely, anyway. There was that one regular guy from their world. "Does the name Libra mean anything to you?" she inquired before she gestured for him to get into the car. It would be difficult to give him a ride if he didn't, after all.

Granted, she realized the girl could have been a grand daughter or great granddaughter, and he wouldn't know her. Or they might be far distant cousins and he wouldn't have heard of her. Still, it wouldn't hurt to ask, right?

Lucius arched an eyebrow at that. "No it does not," he said wondering why in Merlin's name she had asked him that question. Studying her for a second he decided that she was either crazy or there was something else going on here that he had yet to discover.

The only way to find out was to to with her though. Getting into the car he was relieved he hadn't made himself look like a complete idiot by not being able to. Of course he didn't see the seatbelt and if he had he would have had no idea how to use it.

Rory was disinclined to fuss about seat belts. The houses weren't that far away, after all. "Just asking because there's a Libra Malfoy here. Thought maybe you two were related somehow. She's a witch, seventeen, I think she said," Rory relayed. "One of her friends recently showed up, an Albus Potter." She wondered if that meant anything to him. "There're a few Potters here," she continued as she put the car into drive and headed toward the houses.

She wondered which one to stick him in. She was trying not to put people alone, but she didn't want anyone stuck with people they weren't going to get along with. But there was that house that two residents had vanished from; only one of those rooms had been retaken. Though there'd been a spare, anyway, and that had one of the older wizards in it.

Well, she'd see once they got there.

Lucius didn't know that name or the one of Albus Potter but what caught his attention was the fact that the two of them were friends. He did not like that fact at all but he wasn't sure what he could do about it. He didn't know them after all. "No, I do now know of either of them," he said wondering why that was the case.

Rory nodded. "They might be ... after your time. There're a few different time periods here. Nineteen seventies up through the twenty twenties. If they're even from your world," she added as an afterthought. Maybe they weren't and it was simply coincidence that he was a Malfoy as well.

Once they arrived at the houses, Rory decided not to put him in with the other Malfoy in case it turned out they had bad blood or something - maybe the younger one would know the older one. Instead, she settled on the house with the other older wizard. "If you don't like the accommodations, there are a few other houses. Empty ones, but you'll probably adapt better if you have people to help you out. Is there anything else I can do for you?"

Lucius blinked. He did not know Time Travel like that was possible. A few hours into the past? Yes. Decades into the past or future? That was impossible as far as he knew.

"I shall let you know if I do," he said hoping that he wouldn't. He truly did hate relying on people like this. "This shall do for now," he said though it was nothing like the Manor he knew he couldn't complain. After all she had taken him here and after the Battle he knew heh ad to change if he wanted to fit in.

"Do you want me to walk you in, or think you'll be all right? By now, people are used to newcomers showing up, so it shouldn't be a big deal if you just head in. They can get you set up with somewhere to get new clothes and things. We're kind of trying to get everyone who's been displaced to settle in like it's long-term. As far as we know, it is."

She didn't want to say 'permanent', because people were disappearing at random, but it was close enough. No one knew how to get out, so if someone wasn't randomly sucked home, then it may as well be permanent.

"I'll be fine," he said. He didn't want to look weak by relying on someone. It would make things harder for him if he was perceived as weak after all. Plus he had no idea who he would be rooming with.

"Thank you," he said though he wasn't used to thanking people. It was something he realised he would need to change back home if he wanted to fit in better now that the war was over.

Rory wasn't surprised he was choosing to venture in on his own; he seemed the type.

"Sure," she said to the thanks. "If you need anything, there should be contact information posted in the house, and I do keep an eye on the journals. You can text or call whenever."

She paused. "Good luck and welcome to Ipswich."

"Of course," he said nodding to her before making his way inside. If he stayed around who knew what would happen. Of course he could just get to the end of this and wake up to discover that it was all a dream.

Libra had been on her way out of the house after a visit with Al when someone walked in. Expecting it to be Lily back from work, or Severus back from his appointment with Simon, she was a little surprised to see a ... well, kind of familiar face.

Younger than the last time she'd seen him, of course, significantly so. It didn't take much for her to deduce that he likely would have no idea who she was, and that she probably shouldn't go about announcing herself.

Which would have been fine, save for two things - she looked like a Malfoy, and she had Narcissa's eyes.

Her mouth worked a few times before she managed to spit out a few words. "H-hi. Are you new here?" she inquired politely. She knew, too, she was staring a little but she couldn't help that, either.

Well, she had wished her family would show up, hadn't she?

Lucius headed into the building and that was where he came across the first person who obviously lived there. Of course he didn't recognise them but he did at the same time. She was a Malfoy but he didn't know her. His mind remembered the name Libra from the ride here but he didn't want to assume anything before he had his facts.

"Indeed," Lucius said studying her carefully. It was the eyes that got him though. They were his wife's that he knew of for sure. "Have you been here long?"

"Since ... um. I've been in Ipswich since the end of December. I ... don't live here. I just came over to visit Al," she continued before she politely extended one hand. "I'm Libra," she introduced herself, thinking it best for now to leave off her surname.

It never occurred to her that someone else might have already told him about her.

She, for her part, was trying not to stare. He looked like the portraits that had been in the manor. Portraits of his younger days, before she was born, before she knew him as her grandfather.

Maybe later ... once they got to know each other, if he didn't mind changing the future a little ... she'd tell him a few things to look out for. Like a certain Christmas bottle of brandy.

He recognised the name immediately which just confirmed what he knew. "Libra Malfoy?" he asked wanting confirmation of the fact. Of course there would be two Libra's here but he thought chances of that were slim.

"Seven months," he said blinking slightly at that. It was a long time be here. He hoped it wouldn't have been that long, that there was a way home after awhile.

"Malfoy," she agreed, though she blinked and shook her head slightly. "Just ... two. It's only February," she said softly. Though she wondered if that meant he'd come from ... what would that make it? July?

She thought the snow would have been a bit of a tip-off, but ... maybe she was just confused.

"Well, not that two is a ... short time. I mean, some people have been here since the beginning of December. Severus and Lily were ... well, they've been here nearly that long."

She honestly didn't stop to think about the implications of naming them like a couple. This, after all, was her grandfather, and his mindset was likely ... well, not as open as her own.

"No it is most definitely June," he said confused. Of course with being in a new place he was in it was entirely possible that it had a different time too. He just hadn't thought of it. Of course he had seen snow so perhaps it would make sense... "At least where I came from."

His eyebrow arched with the ease she had said 'Severus and Lily' that was something he hadn't been expecting. Not only were both were dead- but then Libra hadn't been born as far as he was aware- but with that they were grouped together. "Most interesting," he said trying to wrap his head around it.

She smiled softly, nodding her head slightly. "I think everyone comes from ... slightly different points. Severus was from May. Lily Luna, Harry's daughter, she's from March. I'm from September." And now, apparently, her grandfather was from June.

She wondered if he was from the same year as Severus, and she studied him thoughtfully.

"They're together," she offered, wincing inwardly as she said it. "I mean, so you aren't surprised when you ... realize they're sharing a room." She really did kind of wonder how that would go. She knew her grandfather had been friends with him, and would likely have something to say about his choice of bed partner.

Lucius didn't like that at all. He had thought that Severus would have had a lot more taste than that. To sleep with a mudblood? That was just low and wrong. Of course he did keep that to himself, those beliefs were what got him in trouble originally.

"Interesting," he mused at that fact. None of this place was making all that much sense. "Thank you for telling me that," he said softly. He was still in the mind frame of thinking of Severus as a friend but he had no idea what to make of this information.

"Sure," she agreed. While she did have an urge to hug him - he was her grandfather, after all - Libra repressed it. "So, I should probably ... let you get settled in and everything, but ... I'll be around if you need anything. I live just down the street."

She was a little concerned for Lily's safety, but she didn't think even her grandfather would be so ... obvious about anything like that. Besides that, Severus wouldn't let anything happen to her.

"Thank you, It was good meeting you Libra and I would very much like to get to know you further," he said knowing that she was was his relative. Perhaps a granddaughter- after all she was a daughter (he would know that he hoped unless it was from after the war but that was unlikely) and he thought he knew his past relatives from his lessons as a child.

She nodded and smiled before she finished pulling her coat on. "Sure. When you're settled in and ready for a walking tour of the town, I can show you around," she offered.

It wasn't as though she could drive him around, but she could apparate him to likely locations. Which reminded her. "You don't ... um. Really need to worry about Muggles seeing you do magic around here. There're a lot of wizards and witches and ... everyone in this area's kind of used to it. I mean, we still need to kind of be careful, but it's not ... not a real big deal."

"Of course, I shall let you know," he said nodding to her.

"Thank you for that advice," he said surprised that it was allowed. It would definitely make things a lot more easier to cope with. He had always had magic and was definitely not used to not using it. That hadn't actually even crossed his mind truthfully with everything else that was going on in this place.

"Sure," she agreed with a soft smile. With nothing else really left to add before making things awkward (if they weren't already), Libra offered a nod and a little wave before she made her way to the door.

So, if her grandfather was here ... how long before her father showed up?

Though if her grandmother showed up ...

Her lips curved slightly into a frown. She'd begun to forgive her mother, but she wasn't anywhere near ready to forgive her grandmother for that entire situation. Not by a longshot.

But she supposed she'd deal with that if it ever came up. With a shrug to her thoughts, Libra slipped out of the house.

Lucius nodded his thanks once again to his granddaughter before she left. Oh he knew he hadn't gotten their exactly relation from her but he wouldn't press her. That could alienate her and that was something he didn't want, something said he needed as many people here as possible.
