It wasn't as though she'd been overly concerned to be walking along, hunting, and suddenly find herself somewhere different. She did spare a thought to whether or not this was going to be a common occurrence, but it had happened before. She knew how to handle it this time. And if Matt showed up in Hell too, she knew how to walk away. Or leave him for the wolves. She knew better this time. Most of the demons had been foolish, easily distracted, easily frightened - even the big ones - but there were a couple that Alice recognized from Ipswich after a day or two that she had started to track. She didn't want to tie herself to anyone in particular, but she did want to slip around and make sure that everyone was doing all right, where she could.
She'd taken to following a wolf-man around, which hadn't ended well for her when he gotten tired of her and turned, lashing out sharply and sinking his teeth into her arm and pulling. He was stronger than she'd anticipated, and the left arm had been severed. She'd kept fighting, of course, and before long he'd taken off again. It had been awkward carrying her arm around, but she knew it took a while for it to reattached. She'd used it to beat other demons with. It had made her laugh.
They'd fixed her up nicely when she got back, though. Well. As best as they could. She knew the doctors had very little idea how to handle a vampire. They'd used glue, which made her giggle, and put the arm in a sling that was meant to stay on until the arm felt stable. Surprisingly, it still really kind of ached, but she supposed that was just the skin reconnecting.
It was cloudy and snowy, and she'd taken to being outside, just walking around whenever it was cloudy enough to do so. Even though the people of the area had gotten used to the idea that some of the vampires new to the area sparkled, but she still didn't really like to flaunt it, even though staying in the house all day could be a real bitch sometimes.
She did wonder if anyone else would be out - slowly but surely, people seemed to be getting used to the idea that there weren't going to be all sorts of demons running around with them - or if people were staying inside to take care of the others who'd been trapped in Hell. She wouldn't blame them, either way, given some of the other injuries she'd seen. She knew she got off lucky by the very nature of what she was to have only temporarily lost use of her arm. Maybe she'd see about visiting some of the others later.
