RPG: Monster Hunting
Who: Allen, OPEN
When: Around 2am
Where: Outside of the Copper Dime, streets
Rating: PG-13, but could go higher depending on who jumps in.
Summary: Allen has just gotten off of work, and may or may not be planning to "play" with some of the Hellspawn.
Status: Open, ongoing

Allen stepped outside of the bar; another night of bartending behind him, and the demon was quite satisfied with the tips he had received for that night-early morning. He walked over to a nearby wall, and leaned against it; wondering what he should do now. He wasn't tired, and had about 16 hours to kill before he would have to return to this place again. Pushing himself off of the wall, Allen had made up his mind.

Heading over to one of the many fields, Allen decided that he was going to play with some of the hell-creatures that had become so prominant lately. On his way there he pulled out a cigerrette, and begin to smoke it.

And even though it was 2am, he hoped to run into someone else.

While she knew she should probably have headed in an hour ago, there were a lot of interesting things out here. Plus, she had that whole 'guilt complex'. Not that she actually believed this was entirely her fault, but she had been there when all hell - ha ha - had broken loose.

She'd killed a few things. Ran from a few other things. Given some consideration to tangling with things then changed her mind and walked the other way.

There was a lot of shit out here, always at night, and she had to wonder why it hadn't made the news yet. Not that she minded that part, but ... well, it was weird. A lot of what wasn't making the news was weird, but Corey wasn't inclined to protest it.

In the course of her roaming, her eyes set on a person. For a moment she mistook him for a creature before realizing ... nope, person. "You know it's dangerous out here?" she called toward him, mostly to announce herself and so he wouldn't think she was some sort of a creature.

Allen took a long drag from the cigarette while turning his head towards the source of the voice he'd heard. Pulling the stick out of his mouth, the demon allowed the smoke to stay in his mouth, and throat before slowly blowing it out into the cold night air. He then put the cigarette out on the palm of his hand, and tossed the butt into a nearby ashtray.

"Just got off of work." Allen explained, being truthful for once.

He couldn't quite tell yet if this woman was a human, vampire, demon, angel, or some other type of creature. He had started to learn that this place wasn't quite like his home, and some discretion was advisable.

Corey quirked a brow, but it wasn't as though it was impossible. Lots of places stayed open late - this late, even. So she nodded slightly, studying him for a moment. Being new to town, she never could tell if people were natives or if they'd recently arrived. The conventional way or otherwise.

So she bobbed her head in a nod, and tucked her hands deeper into her pockets. "Statement still stands," she pointed out as a grin tugged briefly at her lips.

While she was inclined to offer to escort him home, she was perfectly aware how that would look. Not-that-tall Corey who looked like a typical if possibly athletic girl offering to keep a guy safe from the things that went bump in the streets.

Still, there was the whole 'shadowing' thing she could try. "So you should be careful," she added after the brief pause.

Now Allen smiled, but it wasn't his usual cocky smirk. It was friendly, but still a little mischievous. "Dangerous? You wouldn't happen to be referring to those strange creatures that have been seen around town, are you?" He asked this question, although he had a feeling that he knew the answer.

He took a step closer to her, and looked her over again. She appeared to be somewhat athletic, but then that might not mean much. "I would think it'd be dangerous for you to be out here as well," he commented. "So, out of curiosity, what are you doing out here so late at night?" he asked.

He found it just a bit strange that a young woman was out during this time of night warning people about danger. Perhaps that one guy's message about useless people had gotten to her, or maybe it hadn't. No matter, Allen just remained where he was, waiting for an answer.

"I would be referring to those, yes," Corey agreed as she pulled her hands out of her pockets, crossing her arms over her chest. She had seen reports of people killing them, heard a few of the other guardians that had killed them, but they had no way of knowing how many had gotten out. No way at all. For all she knew, there was a slow leak and they were escaping in hundreds every night and fleeing all over the world.

Or hiding, and breeding, and waiting.

Rolling her shoulders, Corey smirked then shrugged. "Patrolling, I suppose. Looking for creatures to take care of." Or run from, whichever the situation warranted.

So she was patrolling, huh? The demon smiled, and nodded, and stated, "Fair enough; you're just doing your part to help this place, right?" he asked as if wanting to make sure. Either way it didn't quite matter to Allen, but if she was also out to kill some of these monsters then who was Allen to complain?

It wasn't like he enjoyed these particular types of hellish creatures.

"Anyway, I was also getting ready to scout around this place, and deal with some of the hell creatures myself." He felt confident in saying this, because he wasn't telling her that his plan was to play with them.

And by play that meant completely screwing around with them before killing them.

"Ah," she said. How silly of her to assume he was simply a plain old regular ... well, all right, she was mostly a plain old regular human, but she had training.

"So at the risk of crossing all sorts of lines, what are you? I mean, demon hunter but human, werewolf, something else entirely?" Corey grinned a little. She didn't think it was exactly a secret what she was; it had been up on the journals a couple of times - but that was also assuming he had connected anything yet. Which he might not have; for all she knew, he didn't even have a journal.

She also didn't expect an honest answer to the question, but she was kind of interested in seeing what he would say.

When he was asked the question, Allen thought for a moment before answering. On one hand he had hinted on the journal systems what he was, but on the other hand he was still incapable of being completely honest. After some consideration he finally answered her question.

"I'm a fallen angel," he answered with a shrug. If she wanted to make the connection that he was a demon, then he wasn't going to complain.

"And I take it you're a human?" Allen asked, "or something else entirely?"

She arched her brows slightly before reminding herself that if vampires, werewolves, and gates to hell could be real, so too could fallen angels. She almost asked if he was one of the famous ones, but that assumed Christianity and she wasn't naive enough to believe ... well, everything about that. Or most things about that. So she simply nodded like people told her they were fallen angels every day.

Given what was running amuck in this town now - and coming in through the portal in the field - it wasn't like she really thought he'd be the first and only.

"Mostly," she said. "Still, human I suppose, yeah," she agreed as she nodded a few times. "Recently turned into a guardian," she added as she uncrossed her arms and lifted her hands to let a little of the green energy play between her palms. "Earth," she clarified. "So that makes me a healer as well as an earth elemental."

He smiled at her, and seemed to be a bit intrigued by the whole earth elemental thing. He knew that Uriel had elemental control over earth in his world, but Allen wondered how a human could handle such a thing. "So, how do you handle the whole earth elemental thing?"

Allen looked around the much desolate city for a moment before refocusing his attention on the young woman. "And how does one become a guardian? Did you go through a series of trials, slaughter a bunch of others vying for the title to come out on top, and win?" This question had a hint of teasing in it.

"How do I handle it? Very carefully and hope it's easier in spring." She smirked faintly and shrugged. "It's hard to work frozen earth, and ... we've got a lot of that around here." Moving one hand, she gestured toward a few distant trees. "I can work them all right though, so it's not an utter loss, and the healing thing doesn't seem temperature dependent."

Corey laugh quietly at his question. "I think I must have annoyed whoever was in charge of irony at some point. I ... used to be a witch hunter. I hunted guardians, witches. And now I am one. No trials involved just ... a matter of being in the wrong place at the right time, or something to that effect. Random happenstance."

Though really, she couldn't say she minded too much. They had intended to get out of hunting anyway, and what better way than to be thrust into protecting a coven?

There was a look of contemplation on Allen's face when Corey had mentioned once being a witch hunter. He wasn't sure how she used to work, but the last witch hunter that Allen had encountered was a self righteous twat. Anyway, he shoved that information aside for now.

"So, are you one of those violent types that's planning to split the world in two, or one of those peaceful types that wants to make pretty trees and flowers grow?" he asked with a smirk.

Now growing bored of just standing there, Allen walked over to a nearby bench, and sat on the back of it.

Corey followed along, though she didn't invade his personal space. Nor did she really relax; her eyes continued to move slowly over the surroundings, though she did focus on him occasionally. "Suppose I'm a mix of the two," she admitted. "Not exactly a tree hugger, but more of a live and let live sort. Unless someone's causing problems for someone else ..." she shrugged. "Let them do whatever they want."

That had more or less been her philosophy as far as witches went; as long as they weren't fucking with people, she had no desire to hunt them. It was the ones that buried people alive that she took issue with. Her eyes darkened briefly before she shoved the thoughts away; the only outward evidence was a tightening of her shoulders and a slight shudder.

"Huh, so you don't exactly go around to random witches, and slaughter them do you?" Allen asked, hiding the slight disappointment that he felt on that matter. No matter, he quickly shoved those thoughts to the back burner, and stood up on the edge of the bench before jumping down.

"I was getting ready to head out to the field to take care some of those monsters. If you want to come along I won't be opposed," Allen told her.

Corey smiled and shook her head. "Not much for the random slaughter," she agreed. "That kind of falls under the category of murder." She shrugged and grinned.

Shaking her head, she flashed him an apologetic smile. "I've got a brother that tends to worry, and I'm supposed to help them with the barn tomorrow, so I should head in, get some rest. Wouldn't want to fall asleep in the middle of hunting monsters - or in the middle of holding up a barn wall or something."
