HUMANS One of most common races of both the mortal realm and The Beyond. There is nothing special about the humans.
DAE'MIR - demon/angel/gifted - Another abundant race but this time one most likely known by another name. The Dae'Mir are long-lived mortals who usually have some sort of power. Sometimes attributed as demons or angels they tend to go by whatever they identify as the most. They are not inherently inclined to evil or good, they are as flighty as humans when it comes to morals, as grey as anyone can be. They are not immortal and tend to live to around 800 depending on their bloodline. Their strength, speed, reflexes and senses are all heightened in comparison to humans. As mentioned they often have some sort of gift which can truly take any form and they usually have between one and four.
VALTIS - vampire - The Valtis are a often misunderstood race. They are not in fact dead. It is more of a disease if you will - though some say gift - which changes the very cells in the body. Some are born with it making them pureblooded Valtis but it is possible to be sired, to be turned into one of the Valtis though they are usually weaker if anything but human. They are cold blooded creatures but they are not dead as some believe - their hearts are slowed to near stop unless they have fed.
THE KIN - therianthropes, werecreatures - A strong, long living race who are highly with the moon and animals. Each is capable of taking on the form of an animal. Usually this animal is in the form of a predator: wolf, lion, hawk, bear etc. They live for around 300 years. They have heightened senses, strength, speed and reflexes and make for great warriors. How intune with their animal they depends for each Kin and they have differing relationships with their animal. It is possible to be turned by the bite of a kin.
ANARIN - elves - An earth based race who have very, very strong ties to nature. They are peaceful race for the most part but usually still very skilled. They are a very, very old and powerful race though their numbers have dwindled greatly and they have currently retreated away from the Isles, leaving the Merhites and Demos to fight alone. Very few Anarin have been seen on the Isles over the last few thousand years though recently there have been stirrings of discontent upon Peralea.
