Powers Assessments (last names starting A-H) These assessments looked at what students could do with their powers. Students with absolutely no control were just asked to demonstrate as much as is possible, and those students who have control were asked to show how much control they have, and what their power is at its strongest. When there were powers that needed to be used ON people, the guinea pigs were always other staff members - never other students. With the exception of powers that need another Vol to work, these assessments were done in isolation, so other Vols would not have known what happened in their sessions, nor would they have seen their powers in action. Vols who do need another Vol for their power to work (power channeling, power negation, power stripping, power mimicry, power detection) would have had one or two other Vols that they tested their power with, and anyone keeping powers a secret would have been outed to at least those Vols that were with them, and the Vols they tested their powers on may have been outed as well for everyone but the power negation and power stripping. We encourage you to negotiate IC who they practiced on, etc. The staff asked lots of questions and took lots of notes, but they were encouraging and patient and never raised their voice or got angry. Counseling Sessions (last names starting with I-O) Two sessions, one before lunch, and one after lunch, with two different counselors. They were mainly just checking how they were overall, and not making specific diagnosis at this time. The counselors were well-trained and very professional. Anyone who had previous private counseling would have had the option prior to this meeting to have their old counselor pass on their files according to their country's privacy laws. Anyone who had previous government-mandated counseling would have had their files passed on even without their consent. Medical exams and physical fitness tests (last names starting with P-Z) Medical exams were general and not much more than a physical. They did draw blood (for those students whose powers allow it, at least) to run a number of tests, both health-related and genetic. The physical fitness test consisted of: Doing as many push-ups as possible in one minute Doing as many sit-ups as possible in one minute A timed run/walk of 2 miles The choice between seeing how many pull-ups they can do, or how long they can do a flexed arm hang Measuring their flexibility via the V-sit reach. |
