Ern took a few deep breaths and apparated to Diagon Alley's smaller pub. He was still angry. There was no way around that. He had expected a sincere apology but when he didn't receive that, his anger grew. And to add insult to injury, the man had implied that Ern didn't value his friends because he would do the exact opposite. The degree to which his anger existed was significantly worse than his encounter with Zabini. This was the sort of anger that was compounded by the pain of betrayal. He couldn't help but feel that his own personal efforts for these past five years were undermined by this act, even though it was everyone's efforts. It wasn't a feeling that was easy to let go.
Prior to leaving Ern clearly noted his thoughts after the interaction in a spare thought chart that he had left laying around his flat. He figured that the focus of this Friday's session would be how to deal with remorseless, self-righteous, small-minded, reckless arses who didn't understand the degree or type of betrayal they have committed, not only against his friends, but towards the wizarding world as a whole. Arriving first at the Jobberknoll's Nest, he had quickly made his way over to the bar and ordered himself a shot of rum, quickly downing it.
Obviously he knew that this would have to go down on the chart as one of the coping strategies that he had used for his most recent thoughts and emotions, but he needed to do something to get the edge off quickly. True, it wasn't the best way to deal with things, but he was fairly sure that he'd otherwise do what Neville spoke of and hex the man on sight. He sat at the bar to wait for Harry.
