Who: Neville Longbottom and Susan Bones (and NPC Sam Bones)
What: Dinner!
Where: Silver Snidget, Diagon Alley
When: Monday night, 6:30-ish
Rating: Low
Status: Incomplete
Susan had always been an intensive packer. She made lists, got things ready weeks ahead of time, even drew out plans on how to fix an extra box of sugar quills into her trunk when it had been packed beyond full. Sam had not picked up any of Susan's neuroses though, and as soon as she told him that Neville had something for him at dinner, Sam had his trunk full and closed, claiming he was ready to go. Susan was in no place to argue. She grabbed hold of her purse and the two siblings were headed down the road.
The Silver Snidget was in rather rare form this evening, lights, bells, and whistles going off every few seconds as kids ran back and forth, screams of laughter piercing through the air over the sound of the music. Sam did his best to be patient and wait, but after two minutes of standing still he declared that Neville was a lost cause and went scampering off to play games with some of the other kids.
Susan watched Sam carefully, but stayed close to the front of the restaurant so Neville didn't have to try and hunt her down. Half of these kids are taller than me. The thought crossed her mind before, but she was faced with the reality of it when a group of children not much older than Sam walked past her. Susan shook her head and then ran a free hand through her hair, doing her best to make it not quite such a mess. She had a flutter of excitement in her stomach as she shifted from one foot to the other, and a smile spread across her face. It was nice to be out and about, but it was even nicer to be spending that time with a friend like Neville. She felt a pang of guilt for choosing work over her friends nearly every day, but times like this made her almost forget about it. Almost.
A familiar laugh screeched through the air as Susan saw Sam and two other kids clamboring to catch a tiny charmed snidget made from glitter that was flying through the air. "Catch the snidget, win a broom!" the wizard in the yellow bird costume shouted from his tiny stage in the back corner, several instruments played on their own behind him, the same few songs repeating over and over. Susan beamed as her eyes followed Sam around the restaurant, idly wondering if she should have changed out of her housework clothes. Too late now, she laughed silently to herself.
