“Who says we can't?” He said and slid her a bit more of a sly look. He fully intended to. Well, to an extent. There were things that were the way they were for reasons that were too complicated to really discuss at the moment, but some things would change. Definitely.
Henry grabbed his cloak and tossed his over his arm, grabbed the bag and the wine flagon, and said to Opal, “bringing you here had nothing to do with you catching me sneaking out. I do that all the time. And it doesn't even count as sneaking anymore since obviously the servants indulge me.” Unable to help it, he winked a bit. He was good to the people that served him and his family, therefore they were good to him. “And, as I remember it, you were the one who got caught sneaking about.” He was smiling, a bit more genuinely than before.
“Grab the lamp and.... folded up on a trunk in the back there is an old blanket. Grab that, too. I'm going to show you why I brought you with me.” Trusting that she would do as requested, he used the dim light to dig through boxes and piles of things from memory, only needing minimal light anyway. When it was just him, he didn't always use the lamp unless he couldn't be outside -weather wise.
He found another rolled up star chart, this one with the proper time of year on it, so the constellations would be in proper order, and tucked that under his arm. Once he found the small telescope that he hadn't put away properly last time, he grabbed it and turned to meet Opal at the door.
