Good to know that the nobleman was not a complete fool. Hook gave the other man a slight smile and nod before he entered the public house ahead of Felix. So far, everything was going swimmingly. He was in a new place where no one knew his face. He could work out his plans without fear of having anyone get in his way.
“First round is on me, Stone.” That felt better than calling him by his given name. He always called the members of his crew by either their family name or whatever nickname the other men had come up with. Socializing with the upper class was going to take a bit getting use to. He was going to have to review the rules of etiquette.
Hook spotted an open table near the back. He nodded in that direction and headed over. He hoped Stone would follow him. One could never tell how well any nobleman would be in a room full of commoners. Hook was scanning the crowd to see if there were any that looked like they would make for good additions to his crew.
“Hold the table, old chap, and I’ll get us a couple of pints.” The pirate captain left his guest and went to the bar to buy the first round. He wondered how much Stone could drink before he passed out.
