Hook took the meat pie without hesitation. He was hungry and he was fairly confident that Stone would not have offered it if he had not meant to share. He drank the ale he had bought. Stone was a smart kid; it would be bad form to call him on keeping the drinks separated.
“I was considering taking a job on the land for while,” he said after taking a bite of his pie. “The sea hasn’t been sharing much bounty lately. Though I confess that I am not certain what kind of job is available for a man with only one hand.” He was really going to have to repay Pan for that injury. Soon.
“Maybe I could work with horses.” Hook smiles at his mark. It would show that he had been listening to Stone’s tale. All he had to do at this point was to gain a small bit of trust from Stone.
