It was peculiar that she covered her mouth when she talked. Charles wasn't entirely sure what that was about, but perhaps she was from a different place with different manners. Certainly that was possible. Maybe wherever she had originated from, not where she was now, it was polite to cover one's mouth when speaking. Odd, but there was nothing really off-putting about it. So, he didn't give it much of a second thought.
What she said, though... that she was just looking for a place to sit and eat... alone. Alone. In the woods. Where there were all sorts of dangerous people and creatures. Hmm.
And she still looked awfully well-dressed to be without protection or an escort.
“Where are you from that you are walking about here on your own? It can be quite dangerous for anyone to be out here on their own.” Charles had a soft, politely curious look on his face. He did not wish to upset her at all, it just seemed strange.
There was some stirring in the party behind him, a few members of the guard had approached the captain of the guard and there was some low conversation. Charles paid it little concern. That was until the captain rode up beside him. “Your Grace?”
Charles raised a hand to indicate that whatever he wanted would be addressed in a moment. Still looking down at the woman that was certainly not a peasant by her clothes alone. “What is your name?”
