Opal's smile turned shy, and she looked down as a blush rose in her cheeks. She wasn't at all sure that she would do well, or that she'd find her footing either. Right now, she felt as though she were trying to balance on ice without falling on her face. Every time she tried to take a step, it was slippery and she was off balance.
But if King Charles thought she could do it, then she would do her very best to try. Somehow, Opal knew she would feel bad if she let him down. So she would apply herself more, and try to learn better.
"Thank you," she said quietly. "I will try." There was a small pause where, with her eyes still downcast, she caught a glimpse of the gems that had been produced from their conversation. Looking up at the king, she said, "Would you like these?"
