Ananya smiled brightly. "Jamie. I quite like Jamie. It's a good name." She gave a little nod. "Well then, Jamie, now that you are here, do you know what you plan to do?"
Certainly, she hoped he'd come to take advantage of her learning centers, but she'd learned that pushing was met with suspicion. Actually, most things were met with suspicion. It was much better to let the young man choose his own path. With some gentle nudging.
"I was absolutely sincere when I told you that I think you have potential," she said quietly. "A great deal of potential. The only question is what you want to do with it. Whatever you choice, Jamie, know that I will help you. Even if you want nothing more than to pass through my kingdom on journey."
She was hoping that her offer would make him think, would make him consider all possibilities. But if he really wished to flee, she would keep her word and give him whatever aid would help him best. In that way, she would start to build trust and hopefully he'd someday return. But Ana truly hoped that he wanted to learn. She hoped very hard.
