Ah, so that was too pert. Still, Ella had to stifle her own smile at making him blush, carefully tucking it away. She did hope that he was not angry with her for the overly familiar comment, and instead took it as a compliment. As yet, she had not mastered that skill.
"Berries are acceptable as well?" she teased, very quietly, as they resumed their walk. She wondered who she would ask for some art supplies...perhaps her tutor. Although she rather imagined that the older lord might balk at his precious paper being used to draw upon instead of for her atrocious penmanship. Then again, maybe it would be an improvement. "Hopefully they have some to spare from supper later. I'd rather not get on the cook's bad side, either."
It wasn't much longer for them to come upon the kitchens actually. Ella hesitated; she had already been friendly with some of the staff but perhaps that was too friendly? Now that Felix was with her, she worried about making more mistakes. He wished her to be herself, but that was while they were alone.
