Felix felt a heat in his cheeks that was completely unexpected. He hadn't flushed from something a girl had said to him since he was twelve. But the idea that his wife's ladies were discussing him, with her, and what topics may be broached... it was a bit much to take in.
He smiled to hide his mild discomfort, and returned to a previous subject to change the current topic. "Lady Mary may fight fiercely, but on matters of taste, I think you're safe going with your own instincts. After all, an appreciation of art gives you a good eye, doesn't it? And speaking of art..."
Felix started them forward again, once more leading her toward the kitchens. "We need to get you some pears, or at the very least some berries. And we can discuss your restorative recipe with the cook."
That was why they'd been going to the kitchens to begin with. Before being derailed by serious discussions. It was turning into a very enlightening day.
