"Well, how else would you manage to get me into a box, love?" Kol kept his answer vague. The original vampire probably didn't want his siblings to show up more than anyone given how they treated him over the centuries.
"You're welcome by the way." Kol flashed her a playful smirk in return. Given Kol didn't consider himself overly mature, he didn't mind her little childish gesture.
Kol knew of 'witch drugs.' They did exist in his world though it sounded as if her 'witch drugs' were a tad different. Kol knew of controlled substances that allowed witches to be capable of seeing certain things, but nothing that enhanced abilities. Only mastering different kinds of magic did that.
"It sounds like the trade-off was worth it then, love," Kol replied carefully. "You saved your friends." At least her powers just changed, she didn't lose her access to them forever like Kol did when his mother turned him and his siblings into vampires. Granted, her experience wasn't wonderful, but she did save the people she cared about. He could tell that the trade-off was worth it to her."
While Nina took a sip, Kol practically downed his entire mug of ale the moment it touched his lips. Not that it mattered. Being a vampire Kol had a high tolerance for alcohol. It would take more than his mug to get him even close to "buzzed" as they say.
"I'm sorry to hear he died, love." Kol offered her a small sympathetic smile. "And that it happened right before you came here. I imagine it's taken you some time to come to terms with it or that you might still be coming to terms with it."
Kol took another sip from his mug. Her words hit a little too close to home for the original vampire. "You shouldn't have to try that hard to get someone to recognize who you are and that you deserve respect for being the person you are. It's clear you cared about this bloke, but you shouldn't have to work that hard to make someone care about you, love," Kol said quietly, brown eyes meeting her gaze.
"My family was like that. It took everything I had just to make them notice me. Care about me. In the end, none of it mattered. I learned quickly that it shouldn't have to kill yourself just to make yourself matter to someone. Not ever."
