"There won't be any beating," Uhura said, smiling despite the way that her heart hurt at the resignation that was etched across his face. "I promise," She said, leaning forward and touching her forehead to his. It was a gesture that Uhura had gotten used to, a bit of quiet comfort and support from one mind to another. Giving his hand another squeeze, Uhura grinned slightly.
"I might kick him though. You know, just for good measure. Besides, it's more likely that he's done something to deserve it either way," She said with a soft amusement in her voice before leaning up and kissing his forehead again. "Goodnight, Leonard. If you need anything, don't hesitate to wake me up."
