"That goddamn mind meld that the Ambassador did fucked him up beyond all telling," he told her seriously. "Jim...he saw how he died in that other reality. And he's not handling it well, so if he needs to talk, then that's what's important. I can't have my captain dealing with that sort of trauma while we're stranded in a strange reality, and more importantly, I can't let Jim go through that alone."
