When the vision had first happened, Cordelia had almost misunderstood it. That didn't happen often, and hadn't happened in quite a while, but the way it had flashed in her mind it had almost seemed like she was waiting for something... more, before she took action. Because surely her new lot in life was not to run around rescuing random people from random acts of violence that didn't involve vampires or demons, right?
That, she realized, was a resounding 'wrong' she realized as another vision didn't come while the clock ticked ever closer to the time it was meant to take place. So without a moment to spare, the Seer arrived on the street the vision had shown her. She was armed with a crossbow she'd managed to buy earlier that day, and wasted no time in taking aim and letting the first bolt fly.
It slid like a knife through hot butter, directly into a shoulder of one of the attackers. He let out a scream that sounded very much like a girl, Cordelia noted, before he fell to the ground and began tugging at the bolt. The others stopped their assault at the complaints of their friend and turned to her at once.
"Now see, what I don't get," Cordelia commented as she casually re-loaded the crossbow. "Is why you guys would pick on him." She tipped her head toward Nathan, though still kept her focus on the other men. "When there are plenty of perfectly helpless females out there. Like, well, I'd say 'me', but that'd be a lie."
And with a brilliant smile, Cordelia calmly took aim and let the next crossbow bolt fly.
