"He's not exactly sick," Gabriel said as he plated his own waffles, switching the waffle iron off as he glanced over at Noah with a very soft smile. It wasn't easy to explain in any way that would have been possible for Noah to understand fully. Peter was still trying to cope with everything, and Gabriel wasn't about to force him into a situation that he wasn't ready for. But he was going to nudge if he was going to be ridiculously stubborn about it.
"But he hasn't exactly felt like himself for awhile," Gabriel said as he poured out a decent amount of syrup onto his waffles before crossing back over to the table and sitting down across from his son. "He's getting better, but he doesn't feel safe being around all of us yet. He's afraid he might do something that he'll regret."
