WHO: Gabriel Gray & Claire Bennet WHAT: Guilt has overcome Gabriel, and he needs someone to talk to. Claire is the first viable person that came to mind. WHERE: Claire's Flat WHEN: November 19th; Afternoon RATING: PG-13 [just in case] STATUS: In Progress
Gabriel hadn't really been sure what to think about the information that his mother had given him yesterday except that it would have been appreciated before he killed all of those people for their abilities. He had tested it the second that he'd stepped away from the computer, and something that had started out weak and grown and grown until his body was rippling with the electricity despite his attempts to get it under control. He hadn't exactly intended to take on Elle's overloading, but with the way that his mind was racing, heart pounding in his chest, and gut clenching from the guilt that had overcome him, he hadn't been able to stop it.
He hadn't slept. It was too risky, getting into bed. He couldn't risk setting the sheets on fire, so instead, he'd crawled into the tub, wrapped the plastic shower curtain around any areas that might have touched the walls, and tried to rest. He'd only been able to get maybe one restless hour that way, and he'd spent the rest of the morning picking bits of burnt plastic off of his skin.
After eating, finally settling for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich after unintentionally blowing out the toaster and the microwave, Gabriel decided he had tried to sort out what to do. The only thing that had helped Elle was talking through her issues, but who could he talk to? Angela was the first person that came to mind. After much as he appreciated his mother being here for him, though, he wished that she would have told him this before, that she would have mentioned that he didn't have to kill people instead of giving him Bridget.
Bridget. His stomach flopped, the electricity arching over him again as he gritted his teeth to try and stomp down on it. He had to talk to someone, and he had to do it now. Nathan was the next thought, but... No. Nathan still didn't completely trust him, and there was nothing to say that he wouldn't just fly away and leave Gabriel stranded. Peter was locked up and not willing to talk to him either way.
And that... Well, that just left Claire. While she might have not been ideal, she was better than anyone else that he could think of. She might slam the door in his face. She had no reason to help him, after all. But with the way that she had helped Canfield... He had to try.
And that was what found himself outside Claire's flat a few minutes later, staring at the door for a long moment before finally working up the courage to raise his hand and knock.
