Well, that wasn't the warmest greeting he'd ever received, but to be fair he was expecting something neutral or even a sort of pleasant surprise instead of this cutting, jarring edge of barely muted hostility. Was it something he'd said or done? He'd been nothing but polite all throughout his work-related visit to the zooquarium, or so he thought.
"Y- yeah. No y- you're in the right place. I'm just-..." he gestured over his shoulder to the side where he was taking his screwdriver to the crib, but of course she couldn't see that from that angle. The whole 'it's not what it looks like' didn't even occur to him.
"I'll leave you two to talk," he offered quickly, climbing out the door and letting Becca graciously save the day and clear the air. With Danielle asking if Becca lived here, it was obvious she hadn't been here before. If nothing else it was good for the two of them to meet and connect with each other. He headed back to his truck to grab the lighter out of the glove box and leaned against the passenger door as he struggled a bit to pull his slightly crushed pack of Camels out of his front pocket.
