Well, this place sucked. Danielle was regretting her decision to move here. She knew it had been a rash one, made from fear rather than a desire to go to Stormvale, possibly reconnect with her father. No, Dani had moved because she was scared, because she didn't want to be found. Her only thoughts had been about her safety and the likelihood of her ex finding her here - she hadn't really stopped to consider what it might be like running into her father. Danielle had honestly thought it wouldn't happen that quickly, maybe wouldn't happen at all.
Obviously, that had been stupid. In under two weeks of her actually moving to Stormvale, she'd run into him. It had not gone even remotely well. He either hadn't recognized her at all, or didn't want to and didn't acknowledge it. It hurt, both of those hurt. It's what lead her to wandering around tonight. She didn't want to hole up in her home, as she had been doing for so long. She wanted to get out, walk, feel better.
She had to convince herself she'd made the right decision in moving here. The town was interesting - sure, that was undeniable. Was it interesting enough, though? Was it quaint enough? Was there enough beauty in this small town to overcome all the ugly things in her life? Walking through the town, seeing what it had to offer, Danielle tried not to judge too harshly, tried to keep an open mind.
Still, it wasn't until the park that she took pause. It was a nice park, a beautiful little pond in it and felt... peaceful. Different at night, she was sure, than in the day when it was overrun with families. Here, as the sky was darkening she could find a sense of tranquility here. Not intending to, she ended up sitting not far from a man sitting alone himself. He had a similar face on her to, something off, something not right with either of them.
It should have made her nervous. Immediately her vibes rang out more off-putting as she turned and looked at him briefly before grabbing out a cigarette. It dangled in her lips as she searched her bag for a lighter, then her pockets, coming up empty.
"Excuse me?" She said, pulling the cigarette from her lips and holding it. Her voice was a bit raw, a bit angry but friendlier than her face, at least. "Do you have a light?"
