Beach - Jake, Catriona, open
Jake smirked. "Not for lack of trying," he pointed out even as he put another layer of ice around the bottle.
He shrugged to her observation about the town. "Not really," he chuckled. "Guess it depends on how much you get out and around." Small though the town was, he had no desire to leave it. Every once in a while he wondered what it would be like not to be so painfully heat sensitive, but not enough to actually look in to moving.
His eyes flicked over the people on the beach, the groups and pairs on blankets, and he tried to see where people he knew had wound up. Damon had stopped by but had gone missing, though when he saw him with Jaime he couldn't help but grin. Well, maybe he'd done some good, then. And maybe Cassi wouldn't ever find out what he'd said.
Dragging his attention back to Catriona, he shrugged again. "How's business?" He was pretty sure she managed or owned or worked at a shop or something.
