Beach - Jake, open
The crowds were fluid, and that was fun. He'd come early, and he'd seen Cassi and some of her crowd - along with Jaime - settling on a quilt just down beach from him. For a while he'd watched the crowd as it shifted and changed until eventually Jaime was left alone on the quilt. He wondered if that was accident or design, but he wasn't ever going to learn the minds of women.
He was content enough to ice himself up, to drink beers that never got warm thanks to a coat of ice, to talk to whoever showed up to chat with. The beach was busy, but that was no surprise on a night like this. It was summer, there were tourists, there was an event, and things were pretty quiet on the weird-o-meter.
Bare-chested, semi-sprawled on one of three blankets lined up to cover a bigger space, Jake watched the beach, the water, the crowds, the bathing suit clad bodies ... and looked forward to pretty much having a good time.
