Misty smirked, then shrugged. "She probably couldn't get here in time," she replied as if the question had been legitimate. Her eyes strayed over the people gathering, trying to pick out any who might be troublemakers. Mostly looking for the known trouble makers ... but she figured they'd probably steer clear of the school and head to the beach where there weren't patrols. As far as she knew, anyway; she figured there had to be some sort of authority out there in case of emergency.
She glanced over to him at the question. What did she do? "Not a hell of a lot," she admitted. She wasn't spectacular at making friends, so she really hadn't tried. She palled around with some of the cops, had a few she drank with, but mostly she was a little more fish out of water than anything else here. She always wondered what it would have been like if she'd dropped her finger on one of the other options for transfer when it had been presented.
But she was here, and as of yet there was no particularly compelling reason for her to pack up and leave. "I don't do much in town," she admitted. "Still not used to small town things so when I go out, it's down to Jacksonville." Mostly though, she was happy enough to settle in with a couple of beers and whatever she was binge watching on Netflix. "What about you? What do you get up to? Any suggestions?"
