"Yet," she echoed. "I've gotten six calls so far that people have seen them. We're going to start a tally in the office. How many alien rumor calls do we get." But she knew it happened. If not actual aliens - she hadn't personally seen one, but some swore they'd been abducted - then the rumors of them being around. Seemed like the town went through phases of it. Always kind of made her wonder if it was some sort of group paranoia or something in the air making people think they saw aliens.
"Hoping since it's summer and they haven't seen the place in a month they forgot it exists," Misty quipped.
She glanced around as he offered the lemonade, flinching as the feedback squealed again. "Jesus H. Christ," she muttered as she shot a glare up at the booth. "I swear they're doing it on purpose," she muttered as she moved to sit next to him - but not too close. "Guess I can. The boss isn't around," she added.
Not that she would've cared that much. Bitchy bosses just meant she fought until she lost and was relocated. It was how she'd wound up here, after all, though she'd started in the public sector. Lately though, she didn't see a real difference between public and private in Stormvale - when the cops had too much on their hands, her place loaned people out. Since she had an actual background and history with them, she got loaned out a lot.
At least she'd left the town cops on good terms. It would've been awkward otherwise. "How've things been in your neck of the woods?" She asked as she glanced over at him. "Busy? Not so much?"
