He tilted his head slightly as he heard the knocking sound, and it took him a minute or two to place it. Setting down his cleaning implements by the stack of screens, he moved around the front of the trailer to the other side.
For a second or two, he just sort of regarded the situation, a slightly amused smile tugging at his lips. "Want to borrow a blow torch? It'll work better," he offered. And be easier on her back, but he wasn't going to point that out.
He always wondered if this was a phenomenon unique to the town, or if someone had been screwing around with the air conditioners at night. Or if she'd just wandered into a spot of bad luck. He figured it could be any of the above, but most likely was just a fucked up coil somewhere in the appliance.
