While strangers weren't unheard of in Stormvale, newcomers outside of fairs and festivals and other tourist type activities were rarer. Not impossibilities so much as improbabilities. Granted, it didn't mean the guy was brand new just rolled in, but Bob hadn't seen him before. He still liked to think he had the observational skills he'd honed in his younger days, but he wasn't always watching like he had when he was a cop.
Still, his eyes followed the motion of the guy as he entered, presuming he'd see the counter to order easily enough. While the food was a little more upscale than a diner, they still weren't an order at the table joint. He'd given it some consideration, on and off, but it would involve a restructuring he wasn't sure he was up for yet. Mostly because if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Maybe it would be an improvement, or maybe it would turn people off, or confuse them, and honestly as many people took it home as ate it here, so ... ultimately he didn't see a need to change things up.
Still, he did nod in response to the stranger's nod, and he figured he could at least offer assistance. Because frankly, he looked more or less like a customer, paperwork aside. "Need anything, let me know," he offered before tilting his head in a nod toward the counter where one of the cashiers was ready to take orders.
