"Well, when you put it that way it doesn't sound nearly that sexy," Jake returned with a laugh.
"Wouldn't have fireworks in the fall," he pointed out. "Though I guess maybe if we did ... what's in the fall? Labor day? Veteran's day? But yeah, there've been more than a few wacky fall heatwaves. Not usually with the humid though." He handled heat better if it was dry heat, but he didn't handle any of it well.
"We should save all the fish," he decided with a laugh, clapping him on the shoulder before he started to seek out the likeliest looking booth. "Frog fishing," he read with a gesture at the water booth set up in a row with other games. "Think they're giving away frogs now instead of fish?" Which would almost be better; frogs were easier to set free. Even if they were probably just feeding the predatory water birds when they did that.
