In the midst of getting undressed, Nicola immediately leaned into her husband's arms when he came back to hold her, her sweat-damp brow resting on his shoulder again. She brought a hand up to his chest, curling her fingers around the front of his shirt.
"The first is make sure Tequila is fed and alright. I forgot to feed her this morning, she's probably starving by now." Nevermind they had only been gone an hour at most. She worried about the tiny puppy, and also worried she might get into something if she wasn't kept to a schedule.
Sighing, she lifted her head again, turning her pale face up to Alex. "And the second..." Her fingers tightened around his shirt, holding on almost desperately. "If it looks like I'm having a nightmare, wake me from it. Please, promise me..." She didn't know what her temperature was, but she knew it was high enough to make any potential bad dreams that much worse. "Tell me you're here, tell me it's not real, do anything. Just... please wake me from it."
