He half-sputtered, shaking his head. "I can't help how I speak, woman," he said, though he did reign it in, simply to not make her flush even more. Her color was quite hectic, after all, and it worried him so. He held her even tighter, knowing that she needed the support. He frowned a little as she said she wasn't dreadfully ill, as he had his own ideas about that.
He 'hmph'ed at her. "How about you don't worry about my energy, and just worry about your own?" he said, shaking his head. "I won't be flat on my back taking care of you for a day." Or even more. He just needed a few hours of sleep in between helping her. "I'll bring you all of the tea. All of it, and snacks, and flowers, and anything else you'd like." Which of course was his own way of apologizing, and accepting hers, as well.
The employee waved at her. "No, It's okay! Like I said, just get well. We want to see your smiling face back in here."
Alex smiled a little, and decided to simply scoop her up again. It would be less energy for her to expend, and he'd feel better about it. He had her up and in his arms, and then he moved toward the door. He knew people were watching, but he didn't care, and it didn't take too awful long to carry her to the car, open it up, and set her down in her seat. "Now, buckle up," he said softly as he closed the door. He moved around the car in a much better mood than the last time, and got in, driving them both toward home.
