Lucy had found him by accident. After the storm, Lucy had gone out on patrol, only to find a man beaten bloody with his face in the mud. She could smell a wolf and with everything hanging in the balance, she wasn't sure if he was the enemy. After a few moments of trying to wake him up and surveying his wounds, she used her best judgement and prayed that what she was about to do was the right move. Lucy had ran back to the ranch and grabbed another wolf to help her bring back the poor soul who had been mangled so.
The man had been unconscious for a while, but Lucy and a couple others in the pack had tried their best to clean his wounds, make sure he stayed hydrated, and to stitch him back up. Silver was used and she couldn't help but to be sorry as the wounds would only end up as an added addition to the scars he already had.
Between the storm, Darian's death, and the emotions and tensions running high in the Freki home, Lucy was doing her best to keep her composure. She wanted them all safe but seeing Storm mouth off to the enemy pack wasn't doing anyone good. Darian knew she should have stayed on the ranch, and Lucy couldn't help but to feel guilty over the woman's death. She should have spoken to her more often. Maybe if she had, Darian wouldn't have felt like she needed to leave.
After a much needed shower, Lucy entered the stranger's room in yoga pants, a cami, and sweatshirt. He was breathing, which was always a good sign. Lifting the blanket to see how his chest was healing, she gave a nod of approval and whispered. "You're gunna be just fine."
