Holy fuck. The dude was now bleeding out of the mouth. She bit back the urge to ask if he was alright. He was obviously a vampire, given this whole experiment thing.. so he would heal. And would a vampire honestly have given a damn in this situation? Maybe. Maybe not. She needed to be strong. Strong like steel. They were experimenting, and that meant she could not back down.

"Tell me if there are any other strange creatures in Shadow Falls." Because as a researcher, that was DEFINITELY something she'd wanted to know. She'd been brought into the town in search of an aquatic monster, after all.
