Thread: Gulliver and Dantalion
Who ? Gulliver Mills and Dantalion Selby
Where ? The Black Lion
When ? Friday night
What ? First meetings! One night stand and a love affair with a very jaunty chapeau!
Rating ? R

Whistling and singing are considered in poor taste on city streets, although allowed on the quiet country road. A gentleman never walks with his hands in his pockets.

Gulliver had thought a couple of years traveling the world in complete selfish hedonism would have have changed him a little bit. For a while it had, out there in the different countries he visited he felt like an entirely different person. He was social and bold, brimming with self confidence and eager to explore and adventure. Maybe it was the fact that he was on foreign soil with the knowledge that he would never see any of the people he encountered again that had allowed him to feel so liberated. Whatever the reason, he had been positive his new found pride would stick, a permanent addition to his personality, but in the end it only took a week for Shadow Falls to pull him back into his old routine. He rejoined the staff at SFU, moved back into his old apartment, and before he even knew it his life had resumed its normal, reserved patterns.

His night had always started at the Black Lion. Once he finished with work he would go home, change, and turn towards the staff at the Lion for warmed blood in a mug and maybe something solid to eat if he were feeling particularly nostalgic. He used to sit at a table in the corner for hours and ogle the bar tender. Back then he remembered having such a crush on the human but it was so long ago now he couldn't even remember his name. As he slipped in past the door that night he glanced towards the front of the house out of habit but there wasn't anyone he recognized there.

Unfortunately, with both Shade and Exsanguinate being in the midst of repairs, the Black Lion was the only bar open which meant it was crowded, more crowded than he would have liked and definitely too loud for him to make any headway on the stack of papers he'd brought with him in his briefcase. From the looks of things, as he scanned the establishment, he wasn't even sure he would be able to get his own table.

Hunching his shoulders up in an effort to make himself as small as possible, Gulliver slipped through the crowd with more than a few offered apologies and made his way to the bar to order a warm drink. The patrons around him were a mix of many, both vampires and humans, with far more young people than he was used to. Compared to everyone else, he felt like he stuck out in his dress shirt, tie, and sweater vest. He should have gone home after school and changed as the Routine dictated but he'd been lazy and gone straight to the pub and now he was uncomfortable. It served him right

Feeling like an under age drinker with a fake ID, Gulliver held onto the edge of the bar with clammy fingertips as he waited for the tender to notice him there.
